Holiday Gift Suggestions

Many have come to a point in their lives where they just do not know what to get a loved one for Christmas.  Do they really need yet another tie, or hat, or video game?  If not, how about making a donation in the name of your loved one to one of the worthwhile efforts listed here?

    Episcopal Relief and Development

    Gifts of Hope

    Christmas Kids Project

    Parish "Inreach"

    Brotherhood of St. Andrew

    Seamen's Church Institute

Looking for that perfect gift this holiday season? Choose a gift from Episcopal Relief and Development's Gifts for Life catalog that provides hope to people in need worldwide. Your generosity provides intangible gifts such as emergency supplies, clean water systems, mosquito nets, healthy livestock and agricultural training—and much more!

Over 20 Churches in the local area participate in Gifts of Hope, to the benefit of 26 charitable Service Organizations. Catalogs further explaining the program are on the Usher’s table. Please take one and place your orders for any holiday or special occasion. Every cent of your donation goes to the organization you select, since administrative costs are donated by participating congregations.

"When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it.  But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers."  Galatians 6:10 (NCV)  Members of St. Chads' donated nearly $1500 to meet the needs of several of our parishioners who are suffering financial challenges this year.  Father Brian will use your donations to purchase gift cards from Albertson's and K-Mart/Wal-Mart for those in need.  Our thanks go to everyone who participated in this "In-Reach" program.

This year, the Brotherhood of St. Andrew again donated dozens of pairs of warm hats, gloves, and socks for the homeless in Albuquerque.  These were taken down to the Rescue Mission with the children's gift bags.

Don't throw out all those calendars you get in the mail! The Seamen's Church Institute of New York and New Jersey is collecting and distributing 2008 calendars to seafarers. Episcopalians are encouraged to save 2008 calendars they receive in the mail or from local businesses. The Institute will collect these calendars -- from pocket to wall size.  Look for the box in the foyer to drop off your contributions.
