Vestry Retreat

On March 3 through 5, 2007, the vestry of St. Chad's held a retreat to discuss plans for the parish.  The retreat was held at the Canossian Retreat Center in the south valley, and was moderated by Paul Hopkins from the Samaritan Counseling Center

At the retreat, your Vestry determined that the Parish will focus on five developmental areas for 2006:

Discerning the spiritual gifts of the parishioners, quite possibly by means of a Spiritual Gifts workshop;

Empowering leadership once our spiritual gifts have been determined (that is, turning tasks over to those whose spiritual gifts suggest that they can and should and are willing to lead the parish);

Cultivating Passionate Spirituality within the parish in all areas of endeavor.  The Vestry suggests that you read the section in the Catechism entitled “The Church,” and especially the last three questions and answers on page 855 of The Book of Common Prayer and Fr. Brian’s article in the April newsletter;

         Developing Christian Education opportunities for all ages;

         Increasing Outreach both locally and beyond our borders.

Also see Father Brian's "Winterwords."  You will learn much more about these efforts within the next two months.  In the meanwhile, if you have questions, please ask a Vestry member.
