Building Committee PRELIMINARY
FACILITY GOALS FOR
ST. CHAD’S BUILDING PROGRAM 7
October 2007 Presented on behalf of the Building
Committee and Vestry
by Bob Gough, Building Committee Chair
PURPOSES OF TODAY’S
MEETING WITH CONGREGATION 1.
Inform parishioners about our translation of your ministries emphases
into Preliminary Facility Goals/Requirements 2.
Elicit input from parishioners to guide those facility goals/requirements -
Building Feasibility Committee concluded that expansion was needed to
accommodate growth that St Chad’s is experiencing – before current
facilities “capped” our size and ministries -
Vestry approved BC3’s approach to facility expansion -- enhancing St
Chad’s ability to perform its
ministries -
Seek a comprehensive physical plant for “steady state” congregation
approximately twice as large as current size – with a “move-in” target of
spring 2010 -
July “town hall” meetings elicited parishioners’ views on which
ministries should receive emphasis -
BC3 translated those ministries into Preliminary Facility Goals, endorsed
by Vestry, and reviewed by Vestry’s programmatic sub-committees -
Presentations by “short-listed” architect candidates to be guided by
these Preliminary Facility Goals -
PFG strive for sufficient
detail to allow architects to create some design ideas, but not so detailed as
to foreclose their creativity or experience -
Candidate architects to make presentations to BC3 in late October, with
one chosen soon after
