Chad’s Building Committee 3 Meeting # 14
10/30/2007 Attendees: Larry Babineaux, Susan Carson, Hal DeHoff, Bob Gough, Merri Jean Jones, Bo Keith, Richard Simpson, and Father Brian Winter
Members Absent: Paul Apodaca, Debra Kincaid, Jan Kingsbury, Rich Lehoucq, and Eileen Simpson.
1. Bob Gough, Building Committee Chair, called the special meeting to order at 3:45 p.m.
2. The agenda was verbally presented and accepted without objection.
3. The recommendation of the Contractor Selection Subcommittee (CSS) was presented by the chairman, Larry Babineaux. The CSS recommended that the firm of Fanning Bard Tatum Architects, Ltd., be selected for the St. Chad’s expansion project. Larry moved that it be accepted by the BC3. The motion was seconded by Rich Simpson. The motion carried by a vote of 7 to 1.
4. Larry Babineaux thanked the CSS committee for their work, and for the input and suggestions of the BC3 committee members and vestry members who attended the architects’ presentations.
5. Richard Simpson read a draft Letter of Intent that will be presented to the Fanning architectural firm to facilitate work on a Preliminary Design (due by January 25, 2008) until a contract with the firm can be signed. The Letter of Intent includes a provision for the expenditure of not more than $30,000.00 for the Preliminary Design deliverables. A motion was made, seconded, and passed to approve the draft letter.
6. Chairman Bob Gough appointed a General Contractor Selection Subcommittee (GCSS) to initiate talks with potential contractors for the expansion project. The Chairman is Larry and the members are Susan, Merri Jean, Bo and Rich S. Fr. Brian requested to be able to sit in. The first meeting of the committee will be Monday, November 12, at 3:00 p.m.
7. Rich S., as Vice Chairman of the BC3, plans to set up an initial meeting of the BC3 with the Fanning firm on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. (Bob Gough will be out of town).
8. There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:20 p.m. with a prayer by Fr. Brian.
